An antique Spanish Lebrillo bowl in earthenware, made of hand crafted terra cotta, originating from Granada, Spain. Featuring a glaze decoration in brown and green over a milk-white glaze. A large peacock motif is embedded on the base of the bowl surrounded by a playful border design. Wear consistent with age and use, weathered condition. Circa 18th Century
These Fajalauza ceramics originated in the 16th Century in Granada Spain, and derive from the mix of Arabic and Christian art. The hand painted motifs are usually pomegranates, peacocks and flowers or plants.
