19th Century Brown German Biedermeier Veneered Cherrywood Secretaire, Secretary
A 19th Century, light-brown antique German Biedermeier tall secretaire with a writing flap made of hand crafted shellac polished, partly veneered Cherrywood and Burlwood, in very good condition. The bottom part of the detailed secretary is composed with two doors that open to two interior shelves. The cabinet is standing on four short arched feet. The top part of the cupboard is detailed with a head drawer and Schinkel roof. The writing flap is particularized by black polished ebonized cross sections. On each side, there are four small drawers with a round pull and an architecturally structured, pentagonal tabernacle compartment with parquetry. The backside is embellished with the original mirrored glass. Restored, refurbished and hand polished. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1820 - 1830, Germany.
