20th Century American Set of Six Oakwood, Bent Plywood Dining Chairs by RomWeber

A dark-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern American set of six dining chairs made of hand carved Oakwood and Bent Plywood, designed and produced by RomWeber, in good condition. The back rest of each side chair is slightly curved to the inside with equally open wood carvings spaces, standing on four inclined straight tapered legs. Lot Nr. 5535 M837. Restored, refurbished and hand polished. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Batesville, Indiana, United States.

American Furniture Company, Batesville Cabinet Company and Batesville Coffin Company were founded in 1879 in Batesville, Indiana. These three furniture manufacturers merged together to form RomWeber. In the early years, they sold furniture nationwide which was quite a rarity at the time.  The RomWeber brand stands for high quality furniture. The company remains family-owned to this day.
