A light-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern Danish set of three side chairs made of hand carved Teakwood, designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Fritz Hansen with heart shaped seats, three sculpted legs and seat backs, in good condition. Model H 4013. Manufacturer label at the bottom. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1955, Denmark, Scandinavia.

Hans Jorgensen Wegner was born in 1914 Tonder, Denmark and passed away in 2007 Denmark. He was a world-renowned Danish furniture designer. Wegen finished his apprenticeship at 17, he developed his skills from the master cabinetmaker H.F. Stahlberg. In 1951, Wegen received major design prizes, from the Lunning prize and the Grand Prix of the Milan Triennale.
Fritz Hansen, also known as Republic of Fritz Hansen, is a Danish furniture design company. Founded in 1872 by the Danish carpenter Fritz Hansen in Lillerod, Denmark. Many well-known artists, designers have work for Fritz Hansen or had their work manufactured by Hansens like the famous Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen or Hans J. Wegner. One of their designs icons is the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen or the Swan chair.
