20th Century Czech Oakwood Reading Floor Lamp with a Shelf by Krasna Jizba

A light-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern Czech reading floor lamp with an arched shelf, made of hand crafted Oakwood, designed and produced by Krasna Jizba in good condition. The detailed light is composed with its original round bamboo shade, particularized by a polished brass ring, which is halted by a flexible, adjustable arm, featuring a single light socket, halted by a long curved stem, standing on a wooden tripod. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940 - 1950, Czech Republic.

Krásná Jizba was a Czech furniture, lighting manufacturer founded in 1927, in Prague, Czech Republic by the Association of Czechoslovak Work. From 1936, until its liquidation, they worked in the House of Industrial Arts. During their time period, the best Czech artist, architects and designers have worked and designed for them.
The Association of Czechoslovak Work was founded in 1914 by the architect Jan Kotêra. They were inspired by the German Werkbund, their manly goal was the the development of collaboration between the industry, crafts and artists and the support of the art industry.
