Jacques Pellegrin is a French painter born in 1944, France. He paints portraits, landscapes and still life. Pellegrin studied the German language in Munich, Germany to be a translator, and later he started to paint and study German Expressionism. His first art work were classic and realist (sometimes called naturalism) art movements, but later on, he discovered the 19th Century Impressionism movement. Pellegrin was strongly influenced by Fauvism (the style of les Fauves - French for the wild beasts) and French Expressionists, such as the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh and the French painter André Derain, etc. He was mentioned twice in the Benezit Dictionary of Artist (1999 and 2006).
