An oversized vintage shield or coat of arms featuring the cross of Savoie, France. Large architectural element is molded in french plaster, refinished by hand and decorated with scrolls and finely handcrafted rosettes, in good condition. This material was often used for the interior of buildings. The decoration was applied to the walls to produce relief decoration to have a more three dimensional visual, rather than having a flat surface. Not recommended for exterior use. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1920 - 1930, France.
