20th Century Gold-Brown Italian Metal Table Light - Desk Lamp by Gaetano Sciolari
A gold-brown, vintage Mid-Century modern Italian table lamp made of hand crafted metal and brass with an oval shade and one light socket. Designed by Angelo Gaetano Sciolari in good condition. The neck of desk light is enhanced by detailed brass rings, supported by a round base. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950, Milan, Italy.

Angelo Gaetano Sciolari was an Italian industrial designer and a business owner, born in 1927, in Italy and passed away in 1994. Once he received his degree in architecture, he started training, working as a film director. In 1949, Sciolari took the family business, Sciolari Lighting over, which was founded in 1892, by his father. Later on, he started working and designing for the Italian manufacturer Stilnovo. In the 1970's, Sciolari Lighting became the first Italian lights seller in the United States, imported by the American company, America by Lightolier & Propress Lighting. Today, his work his highly sought after.
