20th Century Gold Swedish Svenskt Tenn Brass Dressing Table Lamp by Josef Frank
A gold, vintage Mid-Century modern Swedish dressing table lamp with a new white round shade made of hand crafted polished brass, designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in good condition. The stem of the small Scandinavian desk light is supported by a round base, consisting its original light switch, resting on three small curved feet, featuring a one light socket. Manufacturer label at the bottom. Model Nr. 2552. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1930 - 1940, Sweden, Scandinavia.

Josef Frank was born in 1885 in Baden, Austria and passed away in 1967 Stockholm, Sweden. He was an architect, artist, and designer. Frank studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology and was a founding member of the Vienna Werkbund. Frank was considered one of the most prestigious designers in the Stockholm design company Svenskt Tenn.
Svenskt Tenn is a Swedish interior design store founded in 1924 in Stockholm, Sweden by a Swedish teacher and pewter artist Estrid Ericson. In the early time, Svenskt Tenn was appointed as a royal warrant. Later on, Ericson and the pewter artist Nils Fougstedt, she produced modern pewter objects. In 1925 the Svenskt Tenn won a Gold Medal at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels in Paris, France. Further on, in 1932, Ericson hired the well known Austrian architect and designer Josef Frank. Today the Svenskt Tenn is owned by the Kjell and Maerta Beijer Foundation.
