20th Century Grey Italian Single Walnut Tall Lounge Chair by Melchiorre Bega
A single, vintage Mid-Century modern Italian lounge chair made of hand carved polished Walnut, designed by Melchiorre Bega in good condition. The seat backrest of the armchair is slightly curved and tall, detailed with earmuffs, headrests with arched armrests, standing on four small wooden feet. Newly upholstered in a grey-white cotton fabric. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950, Italy.

Melchiorre Bega was an Italian architect and designer born in 1898, in Crevalcore, near of the city Bologna, Italy and passed away in 1976. In 1919, Bega finished his apprenticeship as a crafmanship at the University Fine Arts Academy of Bologna. During his life, Bega designed over 300 projects in the major cities of Italy and abroad. He dived his career into Bega 1 & Bega 2, pre-World War Two and after war.
