20th Century Italian Marble, Brass Floor Lamp by Stilnovo

A vintage Mid-Century modern Italian brass floor lamp with six scroll form arms with cylindrical striped glass shades, standing on a round, white marble base. Produced by Stilnovo, each shade is featuring a one light socket, in good condition. The wires have been renewed. Model 240, Lot 214, 1200 – 528. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1960, Milan, Italy.

Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946 in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
