20th Century Italian Mazzega C-Link Murano Glass Chandelier by Carlo Nason

A rare vintage Mid-Century modern Italian chandelier on a white metal base, the c-link, square glass is made of hand blown smoky Murano glass. Designed by Carlo Nason and produced by Mazzega, in good condition. The round three tiered pendant is composed with circa 120 c-link glass pieces, hanging on the frame, interlocking with each other, permitting any length, featuring a twelve light socket, enhanced by detailed decoration. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940 - 1960, Murano, Italy.

Carlo Nason is an Italian designer and glassmaker born in 1935 Murano, Italy. In Murano, his family is one of the oldest glassblowing families. At a very young age, Nason started working in their family business, to learn the art of glassblowing and the material, artisanal techniques used in glass molding and decoration. In the 1960's, he decided to distance himself from his family's business to focus more in designing glass lighting. To this day, Nason lives and works in Murano.
AV Mazzega is an Italian company founded in 1946 in Murano, Italy by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega. Mazzega is a family owned lighting company, glass factory, specialized in creating, designing unique Murano glass lamps. Well-known artist and manufactures have worked and designed for Mazzega, such as Carlo Nason, Christophe Pillet, Barovier & Toso, Antichi Angeli, etc. To this day, the Mazzega brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
