20th Century Italian Rosewood Lounge Chairs and Side Table by Vittorio Ducrot

A dark-brown, vintage Art Deco Italian set of two lounge chairs with a round side table made of hand crafted polished Rosewood, designed by Vittorio Ducrot in good condition. The detailed fauteuilles have an inclined backrest with arched armrests, particularized with silver leaf decoration. The elevated coffee table complements the set with elegantly shaped tulip design and the silver leaf ornaments at the bottom. Newly upholstered in a creamy white bouclé fabric. Minor fading, due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940, Italy.

Vittorio Ducrot was an Italian designer and politician, born in 1847, in Palermo, Italy and passed away in 1942. After he finished his studies, in 1902, he returned to Palermo, where he took over the management of his stepfather's furniture factory and renamed it Studio Ducrot. During his career, Ducrot worked with the well known architect Ernesto Basile, the painter Ettore De Maria and many other artists.
