20th Century Italian Rosewood MIM Writing Table, Desk by Ico Parisi

A dark-brown, black vintage Mid-Century modern Italian writing, office table with a large top, made of hand crafted polished Rosewood, designed by Ico Parisi and produced by MIM Roma, in good condition. The freestanding desk is composed with a flat extension, in the center of the table and five drawers, three on the front and two on the back, supported by a curved wooden structure, standing on four aluminum feet. Manufacturer label of MIM on the bottom and one corner. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Rome, Italy.

Ico Parisi was an Italian architect and designer born in 1916 Palermo, Italy and passed away in 1996. Parisi studied first construction and graduated in 1934, later he studied architecture between 1949 – 1952 at the Institute of Atheneum in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 1948, Parisi and his wife Luisa Aiani founded the design studio La Ruota. Parisi defined himself as a renaissance artist.

MIM Roma was an Italian furniture manufacture, founded circa in 1890, in Rome, Italy. The company's past remains lost in history.
