20th Century Swedish Pair of Orrefors Chrome Table Lights by Carl Fagerlund

A vintage Mid-Century modern Swedish pair of table lamps with a new white round shade, made of hand blown clear Orrefors glass, designed by Carl Fagerlund and produced, signed by Orrefors in good condition. The Scandinavian desk lights are enhanced with a chrome ring, featuring a single light socket. Manufacturer label at the base, labeled RD 1477. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1940 - 1950, Sweden, Scandinavia.

Carl Fagerlund was a Swedish designer born in 1915 Kalmar, Sweden and passed in 2011. He studied and trained in Stockholm and later went to work for Swedish glassworks company, Orrefors. He designed dazzling lighting and lamps. Today, Fagerlund’s work continues to be highly inquired.
Kosta Glasbruk, later known as Kosta Boda was a Swedish glasswork founded by two officers, Anders and Georg Bogislaus Stael von Holstein, in 1792. At the beginning they produced window glasses, chandeliers and drinking glasses. Since 1898, art and crystal glass has been produced under the brand of Orrefors. In 1950, the Swedish designer Vicke Lindstrand joined Kosta Glasbruck as an artistic director.
