A vintage Mid-Century modern Swedish reading floor lamp with a new white round shade made of hand crafted polished brass, composed with its original light switch, designed by Josef Frank and produced by Svenskt Tenn in good condition. The shade of Scandinavian light is adjustable, flexible halted by a short brass arm, supported by the beam, featuring a one light socket, standing on three curved legs. Model 1842. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950 - 1960, Sweden, Scandinavia.

Josef Frank was an Austrian architect, artist, and designer born in 1885 in Baden and passed away in 1967 Stockholm, Sweden. Frank studied architecture at the Vienna University of Technology and was a founding member of the Vienna Werkbund. Frank was considered one of the most prestigious designers in the Stockholm Design Company, Svensk Tenn.

Svenskt Tenn is a Swedish interior design store founded in 1924 in Stockholm, Sweden by a Swedish teacher and pewter artist Estrid Ericson. In the early time, Svenskt Tenn was appointed as a royal warrant. Later on, Ericson and the pewter artist Nils Fougstedt, she produced modern pewter objects. In 1925 the Svenskt Tenn won a gold medal at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels in Paris, France. Further on, in 1932, Ericson hired the well known Austrian architect and designer Josef Frank. Today the Svenskt Tenn is owned by the Kjell and Maerta Beijer Foundation.
