20th Century White Swedish Orrefors Table Lamp - Oval Light by Carl Fagerlund

An oval shaped, vintage Art Deco Swedish table lamp with a new white oval shade, made of hand blown Orrefors glass, the beam is enhanced with a chrome ring and an antique, original looking light switch, featuring a one light socket in good condition. The white undercoat Scandinavian desk light was designed by Carl Fagerlund and produced, signed by Orrefors. RD 1566 labeled. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1930 - 1940, Sweden, Scandinavia.

Carl Fagerlund was a Swedish designer born in 1915 Kalmar, Sweden and passed in 2011. He studied and trained in Stockholm and later went to work for Swedish glassworks company, Orrefors. He designed dazzling lighting and lamps. Today, Fagerlund’s work continues to be highly inquired.

Kosta Glasbruk, later known as Kosta Boda was a Swedish glasswork founded by two officers, Anders and Georg Bogislaus Stael von Holstein, in 1792. At the beginning they produced window glasses, chandeliers and drinking glasses. Since 1898, art and crystal glass has been produced under the brand of Orrefors. In 1950, the Swedish designer Vicke Lindstrand joined Kosta Glasbruck as an artistic director.
