A black wooden frame, a dark blue, yellow oil on cardboard painting, depicting the typical Provencal landscape, in good condition. The French abstract painting was painted by an unknown French painter who worked for the French designer André Arbus. Monogrammed IY on the lower right. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1930 - 1940, France.

André Arbus was a French designer, sculptor and architect born in 1903 in Toulouse, France and passed away in 1969. Arbus graduated as a cabinet maker at the French university, École des Beaux-Arts. Arbus furniture was inspired by the Classicism of the French Empire, using fine, luxury woods. Later on, in 1935, he opened his own gallery. During his career, he worked together with well known artists, such as the French designer Jules Leleu and Jacques Adnet, etc.
