20th Century Italian Set of Six Modernist Brass Chairs by Chiavari
A vintage set of six Art Deco modernist dining chairs made of hand crafted brass, designed and produced by Chiavari, slightly splayed legs connected with pairs of cross supports with upholstered seats in good condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1930, Italy

The Chiavarina was created in 1807 in Chiavari, near Genoa, Italy by an Italian cabinetmaker. In 1855, about 600 workers were designing and making Chiavari chairs. After the success, the chair was praised by the King of Sardinia, Charles Albert of Savoy, Napoleon III and by the Italian Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova.
