Montefioralle Tuscan Jar
An enormous antique Tuscan jar in terra cotta clay with a heavy rolled rim on the top. This large jar has a crest with the fleur de lys and stamped Fornaci Sieci Firenze. These garden vessels have two handles and show a natural antique patina of use over time. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 19th Century, Tuscany Italy.
The history of these type of antique Tuscan jars dates back to the 1600s. Once used as storage vessels and then these beautiful garden planters were used by the noble families in Florence and Siena.
