Pair of Horses Villa Borghese
gs-1369
A pair of antique limestone horses depicted in gallop were part of an 18th Century garden fountain. These hand carved garden statues on attached rectangular bases have a naturally aged patina, in good condition. These garden ornaments were most likely by Christoforo Unterpreger (see similar in Rome, in the gardens of Villa Borghese. The Fontana dei Cavalli Marini which was built in 1791). Wear consistent with age and use.
