An antique circular wellhead finely decorated with animal carvings and geometrical motifs in hand carved limestone. This kind of wellhead can still be seen today in the Venetian region and originates from a convent of the small island Isola di San Erasmo located in the lagoon of Venice. Completed with a 5” stone step with wrought iron overthrow, pulley and chain. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 20th Century, Italy.
