A gracious Gothic style Italian garden wellhead hand sculpted in limestone. The stone wellhead was carved by hand after an original design from the 15th century. The circular bodice has a chiseled centered Venetian shield and has accentuated bevels on the bottom. The garden ornament is raised on a two piece round platform. The hand forged iron overthrow with decorative lateral S- scrolls, pulley including a hook for pail attachment chain complete this architectural element. Weathered patina, wear consistent with age and use. Circa 20th Century, Italy.
