A vintage model of a stripped anatomical arm after studies by Jean-Antoine Houdon, hand finished During the 18th Century, he became famous by studying the human anatomy with surgeons. He then allowed the muscles to be observed in detail by creating the models. These were used to teach students and cast drawings around the world. Interior use only. Minor fading, due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1970 - 1980, France.
Jean-Antoine Houdon was a French Neoclassical sculptor born in 1741, in Versailles, France and passed away in 1828. He is well known for his designs of portrait busts and statues, sculptures of philosophers, inventors and political figures.
