A very tall antique 19th Century roof top finial with weathered patina from France. Raised on a triangular base with a capital. It is topped by an urn which is adorned with four figures of the magistrate or judges with hair dresses in high relief. An egg shaped decoration is wrapped with Acanthus leaves and scrolls and finished with a tall spike in the shape of a narwhal tooth. Originates from a courthouse in Northern France. Wear consistent with age and use, 19th Century France.
