This pair of vintage French hand-carved limestone wall reliefs showcases the laurel wreath—a timeless emblem of victory and honor deeply rooted in classical antiquity, in good condition. Revived during the French Empire period ( 1804 - 1815 ), the laurel wreath became a prominent motif symbolizing imperial power and triumph.

Each relief or panel features a meticulously carved ribbon-tied laurel wreath in low relief, set against a smooth stone panel with a molded cornice and base. The symmetrical composition and neoclassical symbolism make them ideal as overdoor panels, fireplace surrounds, or decorative wall plaques in both interior and exterior settings. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 20th Century, France.
