20th Century French Painted Metal Châteauneuf-du-Pape Harvesting Hotte patinated in grey green
DEC-1850
A vintage French grape-harvesting metal hotte of tapered form with a worn, time-softened surface, in good condition. The painted metal vessel features the iconic lettering Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the two crossed keys entwined, and retains its original carrying straps traditionally used for vineyard work.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a historic commune in the southern Rhône Valley, renowned for its vineyards and celebrated red wine appellation, with much of its arable land devoted to viticulture.
A charming and characterful decorative object, ideal for a wine cellar, bar area, kitchen, or restaurant interior. Minor fading, oxidation, and surface wear are present, consistent with age and use.
