A vintage wall mounted hand crafted grotesque animal mask molded in French Plaster and refinished by hand, in good condition. Not recommended for exterior use. Minor fading, due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1970 - 1980, France.

Since the 18th Century, grotesque has been used as an adjective for strange, mysterious, magnificent and ugly, mainly used to describe weird shapes of forms and masks.
