French Garden Planter in Glazed Yellow Terracotta from Anduze Provence
pf-1270
A raised garden pot hand thrown in terra cotta from South of France. This authentic hand-painted yellow glazed French garden urn is entirely hand crafted and traditionally decorated with swags and medallions. The garden vessel is available in two sizes. The size and finish may vary as handmade. Drainage hole is provided, not frost proof.
The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm. Available for purchase in pairs only.
