A vintage French wall mounted hand crafted grotesque mask, in good condition. The architectural mask is molded in Plaster and refinished by hand. Not recommended for exterior use. Minor fading, due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1970 - 1980, France.

Since the 18th Century, grotesque has been used as an adjective for strange, mysterious, magnificent and ugly, mainly used to describe weird shapes of forms and masks.
