18th Century a Pair of Italian Triton Garden Statues

Circa 18th Century, a pair of large antique garden statues hand carved in natural stone named Biancone d’Istria Marble. These antique natural stone statues or garden ornaments were part of a classical very large Italian garden fountain representing Triton, god of the sea. In Greek or Roman era Triton was usually represented as merman, the Triton has the upper body of a human and a tail of a fish. One of the garden statues is blowing a conch which he blew to raise or calm calm the waves. The 20th Century Rosso Verona bases are included.
