Antique Mortars
These antique Italian marble mortars showcase traditional hand-carved craftsmanship and beautifully aged surfaces developed through years of use. Originally used in kitchens and apothecaries for grinding herbs, spices, and medicinal ingredients, marble mortars were valued for their durability and weight. Some examples retain their original pestles. Today, they serve as sculptural objects or functional accents, each with unique veining, patina, and wear consistent with age and use. Italy, 18th-19th century.
