An antique pair of Swedish Gustavian armchairs with a loose seat cushion, made of hand crafted painted Pinewood in good condition. The light-grey Scandinavian club chairs have an oval padded backrest particularized by a gadrooned frame. They are composed with slim, arched upholstered armrests and standing on four tapered wooden legs surmounted by foliate carving. Newly upholstered in a cotton fabric with a Vichy checker pattern combining dark-blue grey and light-grey. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1780, Sweden, Scandinavia.
