19th Century Chinese Antique Wooden Figure of the Medicine Buddha Bhaishajyaguru

A large, antique Chinese figure of the Medicine Buddha Bhaishajyaguru made of hand crafted gilded, partly lacquered Tropical wood, in good condition. The sculpture is dressed in a floor-length robe particularized with a swastika symbol on the chest. In Buddhism, the swastika is representative of the footprints of the Buddha. The right hand of the décor piece features the "Varada Mudra" and he is holding a nectar vessel in the left hand. The Buddha represents the late Qing Dynasty time period. Minor fading, cracks due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1880 - 1890, China.
