A stately antique French copper gas light lantern with a copper top, brass details, brass burner and painted in black, in good condition. The brass plate reads: Appareils D’ Eclairage, Luchaire & Fils 27, Rue Erard, Paris. This company started in the early 18th Century, in Paris, in the 12th arrondissement. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1880, France.

The lantern is not in working condition, mainly for decorative purpose. Wall hangers are attached onto the back of the light.
