An early 19th Century, antique set of four German dining room chairs made of hand crafted shellac polished, partly veneered Cherrywood, in good condition. The detailed Shovel side chairs have a slightly curved, sculptural backrest, standing on four long wooden legs. The chairs are particularized by wood grains. Newly upholstered in a green-white velour, embellished with crocodile pattern. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1820 - 1840, South Germany.
