The single Arte Povera raised cabinet, credenza is composed with four door panels and one large drawer on the top, supported by an arched wooden frame, particularized by round door handles, pulls. The inside of the Tuscan cupboard contains a single shelf. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1820 - 1830, Province of Mantova, Italy.

The type of furniture “Arte Povera“ was handmade by cabinet makers starting in the 1500's through the 1700's. The furniture was in fashion but was fairly expensive, due to the choice of wood (walnut or cherry wood). Therefore, the artisans were asked to fabricate the furniture in a less expensive way using wood types such as Pioppo or Fir.
