20th Century French Antique Crowned Beechwood Butcher Block Table
pe-1660
An early 20th Century, antique French butcher block table in solid Beechwood, featuring a richly aged cutting surface and turned, fluted legs, in good condition. The piece is crowned with an ornate backplate, prominently displaying a cast metal plaque that reads “Concours 1908 – Leforest Boeufs”, likely commemorating a regional livestock competition in Northern France. The apron includes a single central drawer with its original iron pull, and the warm patina throughout reflects years of practical use. This sculptural kitchen piece is both utilitarian and highly decorative. Minor fading, scratches due to age. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1900 - 1910, France.
