An octagonal well hand carved in stone positioned onto a hexagonal limestone platform step.  The separate sides of the wellhead are adorned by elaborate carvings of detailed foliate motifs, flower decorations and Acanthus swags. The top rim is decorated by a thick continuous rope décor. Hand forged scrolled ironwork with decorative lateral scrolls, pulley with hook and chain completes this architectural garden ornament. Weathered patina, wear consistent with age and use. Circa 20th Century, Italy
