A 1960s Garden Trough by Willy Guhl

A large concrete sink by Swiss architect Willy Guhl. The rectangular trough has softly rounded edges. The sides are slightly elevated on the bottom. with a beautifully weathered patina. A drainage hole is provided. Recommended for outdoor use only.

Willy Guhl was a furniture maker, interior designer, teacher, and product designer born in 1915, in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland, and passed away in 2004. Guhl finished his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker at the School of Applied Arts in Zurich, Switzerland. He opened his own design studio and workshop in 1939. In 1943, he co-founded the Association of Swiss Interior Designers and in 1966, the Association of Swiss Industrial Designers. Guhl's work is known for his weather-resistant cement designs produced by the Swiss company Eternit.
