Antique French Marriage Globes

Circa mid 19th Century, The glass globes features small woven baskets which have been filled abundantly with fruits and foliage. Displayed on circular dark brown wooden bases. In France throughout the 1800’s, it was a tradition for newlyweds to create their globe de mariee. This was a very personal way to display wedding souvenirs which reflected their love and new beginning. Wear consistent with age and use.
