An antique Sicilian large rectangular water basin or garden planter in the style of the late Hellenistic period with minor repairs. Features impressive mythological carvings of the art muses and goddesses. Dentil molded rim and rope twist along the columns. Hand carved in white Thassos marble with original weathered patina, wear consistent with age and use. Circa early 19th Century Sicily, Italy. Could be beautifully used as a garden fountain.
