Cobalt Blue Anduze Garden Urn Handthrown in Terra Cotta Clay

pf-1399

This fully glazed cobalt blue garden pot originates from Provence, France. The raised garden urn is traditionally handpainted and decorated with swags and a crest. As these planters are handcrafted, slight variations in size may occur. They include drainage holes, and we recommend using liners or landscaping cloth prior to planting. Please note these planters are not frostproof. Wear consistent with age and use.

The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn  from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm.

Ideally paired with pf-1236.
