Blue Lagoon Provencal - French Anduze Garden Planter
pf-1575
This fully glazed blue garden urn originates from Provence, France. The hand thrown pot is traditionally decorated with swags and crests. Due to its artisanal nature, slight variations in size may occur. The planter includes drainage holes, and we recommend using liners or landscaping cloth prior to planting. Please note it is not frostproof. Wear consistent with age and use.
The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm.
