Large Cup Bowl Garden Planter in Celadon
pf-1613
This large cup shallow garden pot is finished with a Celedon glaze and originates from the south of France. The garden planter is traditionally decorated with swags and a crest. The beautifully hand painted Celadon color lets the clay color break through. Therefore it has an antiqued patina. The drainage hole is provided. The size and finish may vary as they are handmade in French terra cotta clay. These planters are not frost proof.
The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm
