A pair of French garden pots in terra cotta clay with bevels and large lateral handles. These beautiful French urns have an illustrious green glaze. Drainage hole is provided. Handmade in Anduze, France. These planters are not frost-proof.
The iconic Anduze urn traces its origins to the early 17th century, during the reign of King Henry IV. Inspired by the classical elegance of the Medici urn from Florence, a French potter in the town of Anduze blended Italian Renaissance design with Provençal craftsmanship, creating the first hand-thrown terracotta urn in Southern France. Over time, the Anduze pot became a hallmark of French garden style, admired for its graceful silhouette, durability, and decorative charm.
