Set of Antique 19th Century Spanish Fajalauza Jar and Bowl from Grenada

A beautiful antique jar and bowl in hand made pottery from Andalusia.
Hand crafted and hand painted in terra cotta. In good condition, originating from Granada, Spain. Featuring a glaze decoration in cobalt blue over a milk-white glaze. The jar has a large painted peacock as the main motif. Ear handles were applied on two sides. The bowl is handpainted in different shades of blue and green. The bird is embedded on the base of the bowl surrounded by a playful border design. Wear consistent with age and use, weathered condition.
These Fajalauza ceramics once originated in the 16th Century in Granada Spain, and derive from the mix of Arabic and Christian art. The hand painted motifs are usually pomegranates, peacocks and flowers or plants.
