19th Century Fajalauza Bowl A.B. in Blue White from Spain

An antique Spanish Fajalauza bowl in earthenware, made of hand crafted terra cotta, in good condition, originating from Granada, Spain. Featuring a glaze decoration in cobalt blue over a milk-white glaze. A large flower motif is embedded on the base of the bowl surrounded by a playful border design. Wear consistent with age and use, weathered condition.
These Fajalauza ceramics originated in the 16th Century in Granada Spain, and derive from the mix of Arabic and Christian art. The hand painted motifs are usually pomegranates, peacocks and flowers or plants.
