This finely carved antique wooden late 17th Century angel sculpture exemplifies the late Renaissance traditions. Most likely, this statue was facing to the right and was a part of a church or an altar.  Rendered in a dynamic flowing motion, the cherubic figure displays exceptional craftsmanship, with sensitively modeled features and a preserved original surface.
