Early 1900s Antique French Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tole Wine Harvest Bucket

dec-1839

A hand-painted metal French hotte dating to the early 1900s, finished in a rich red tone and originating from France. Traditionally used for harvesting grapes, the vessel retains its original carrying straps and is decorated with a hand-painted coat of arms featuring the emblem of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the two crossed keys entwined.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a historic commune in the southern Rhône Valley, renowned for its vineyards and celebrated red wine appellation, with much of its arable land devoted to viticulture.

Minor scratches, patina, oxidation, and fading of the painted surface are present, consistent with over a century of age and use, and contributing to the authentic character of the piece.
